Welcome!
Welcome to the Chiki help section. We're working hard on making more articles but your help is always appreciated!
Wiki Editing
Because Chiki is a wiki, anyone is free to edit it in any way they want. This (hopefully) means that mistakes get corrected quickly, and that articles are constantly being updated and improved by many people.
You're more than welcome to begin editing pages, and creating your own pages. If you need help understanding the basics of wiki editing, please have a peek at Wikipedia's unbearbly good help section. If you want to try something out, or have an experiment with wiki coding, please visit the sandbox.
Please ensure that any articles you write or contribute to conform to the Chiki Style Guide.
Speaki
Speaki is an attempt to create spoken articles of as many Chiki articles as possible. To find out more, see Chiki:Speaki.
Templates & Infoboxes
You may have noticed that several pages have special messages in them, relaying important information about the page. These messages are called templates, and can be inserted into any page quickly and easily. For a complete guide of all templates, and what to type in order to get them, vist Help:Templates.
Similarly, infoboxes are tables that appear down the right hand side of an article, with information specific to the article's subject. For information about these, see Help:Infoboxes.
Rules
Chiki, like practically everywhere else, has rules you need to follow. A basic overview of these rules is available on Chiki:Rules; we suggest you familiarise yourself with these.
Getting Help
To get help, you can do one of the following
- First leave a message on The Administrators' Noticeboard
- Then, Contact a SysOp on their talk page. Stuart or Saxsux are proably your best bet, as they are on most often
- Contact a SysOp via some other medium (Email, CHERUB Forums PM, IM).
- Head out to the Chiki IRC Channel. One of us may be on there... (maybe. But unlikely)
