Divine Launch Event
From Chiki
The Divine Launch Event was a massive event held in a branch of Ottakers in Putney. It was intended to draw attention to the launch of Divine Madness and was attended by Toenails, Heller, Shinabu and Dotdotdot, who sucessfully scared both Rob and his publicist.
The event started like any other, with Rob surrounded by a mob of eight-year-olds wanting their books signed, and an alarmingly threatening looking Australian dad complementing Rob on his books. But there was a subtle change in the air . . . dark clouds were brewing, and lightning forked the sky. The rats poured out of the building as children ran to terrified parents . . .
Toenails had arrived. Striding through the bookstore like some mighty collosus, mere mortals fled in his path, as he went to lock horns with his old enemy. Round two of real-life forum conflicts had begun.
Soon the event was underway, and as Rob began to sit down, surrounded by a mob of bloodthirsty children, the first of the re-enforcements arrived. A whirlwind of slash and frizzy hair, Shinabu came bounding down the stairs, bedecked in the mighty armour of a grey CHERUB shirt, ready to do battle with the establishment, her faithful and rather orange Kewen in tow . . .
Bags of wonder were bequethed to each faithful fan in attendance and all wore their newly aquired CHERUB badges in pride. What's more, everyone also recieved German Capri Sun, insightful crisps and LOLLIES!
We explored our badges, puzzling slightly at the old "World Book Day" cards we had been issued with, that had large red numbers scwarled opon the back and waiting in great anticipation of the monumental event. The thing we'd all been waiting for! The oppertunity to mock Rob's accent!
Next came Heller and her minion Morganwolfe. Racing down the stairs, almost too late for it both already complete with badges their eyes searched the room as there was no one under the legandary forum sign. Luckilym she was recognised by the valiant Toes and boo. Sitting beside them Heller revealed that there was not only books to be signed in her bag but severall copies of the secret cover.
Rob stood up and began to talk. There were a few new and interesting facts woven in, but most of it had already been revealed to the forumers. Then the mob of bloodthisty children started their inquisition, asking the same questions again and again. But, filling an awkward moment, Toes raised his hands and asked about one of Rob's finest moments - the great chucking of dry wipes at his boss. It was then that Dotdotdot threw off her diguise and came out of hiding to reveal herself to the other annoyance warriors. Granted, she was so elusive that neither Toes nor Heller recognised her until she shouted it at them.
It was then the moment that they were all waiting for . . . the preview chapter of Man vs Beast, never revealed before.
