Chiki:Rules

From Chiki

Jump to: navigation, search
This is an official, accepted rule on Chiki.

You are expected to understand and comply to it.
You don't have to learn it by heart, but you should have a rough understanding of the proposals on this page.
Please leave any questions of comments on this article's Talk Page.

It would be great if everyone got along, communism worked, no one was obnoxious, power crazy, ignorant, stupid, or had differing ideas to someone else. Unfortunately, everyone is different, and not everyone gets along. For that reason, Chiki has rules to prevent it from falling into chaos, and SysOps to help enforce them (along with ordinary members of course). This page provides a rough overview of Chiki's rules, with links to the full articles about them.

Article Style

See Chiki:Style Guide

To ensure that all articles have a consistent layout and style, we have a style guide detailing correct article layout, formatting, use of language, etc. Please ensure that any articles you write abide by the style guide.

Unbiased, neutral content

See Chiki:Bias, Neutrality, and Accuracy

Chiki's primary goal is to provide easy-to-access, accurate information about CHERUB, that can easily be understood by everyone. To make this a reality, Chiki content should be unbiased, and written in a neutral view point. Inaccurate, biased propaganda is useless to anybody trying to learn. It should be displayed simply so that even americans understand it, but shouldn't discriminate against people because of thier country of origin, race, religion, skin colour, sexuality, gender, etc, like we did there.

Copying and Pasting

See Chiki:Copying and Pasting

Why make Chiki when you can get CHERUB info from reading CHERUB News, surfing CHERUB Campus, or browsing CHERUB Forums? Simple. Chiki can and should provide more information than those sites, and should try to be more in-depth than them all put together. Simply regurgitating content straight from them does not do any good. Copying and pasting = evvul!

Page Protection

See Chiki:Protection Policy

Pages that are prominent, or constantly subjected to vandalism, will be protected from editing by a SysOp. Protection from editing will almost always be temporary.

Page Deletion

See Chiki:Deletion Policy

Pages which are utter rubbish, are about the same thing as another article with a similar name, not related to CHERUB, or are otherwise unnecessary on Chiki will be deleted on sight by a SysOp. Pages which may be useful, or serve a purpose, will be nominated for deletion, and thier fate will be decided in a discussion.

User Blocking

See Chiki:Blocking Policy

Chiki users that break the rules, are suspected of being NZer, vandalise a lot, or are really, really annoying will be blocked from editing Chiki. Blocks are imposed by SysOps and can have time limits, or can last until further notice.

Images

To help save server space, you are only permitted to upload one image for specific use on a specific article. As many images as necessary can be included in an article, but these images must also be used elsewhere - only one of them can be used specifically on the article. If an image is required for the correct functioning of an infobox (for example), it is not subjected to this rule.

Uploading images just to hotlink to them from another site is forbidden. Images that are not being used will be deleted within a week (unused images can easily be viewed on Special:Unusedimages).
