Basic Training

Basic Training is a training every CHERUB agent must complete before becoming a fully fledged agent and going on missions. Agents can start basic training at age 10. The 100 days spent in basic training are completed in the training compound (and, towards the end, a certain hostile area in another country) under supervision of the head training instructor and his/her assistants.

Uniform
While participating in Basic Training; trainees must wear a pale blue shirt with a number on it and camouflage trousers. They also wear boots, socks and CHERUB issue underwear [which most often have been worn previously].
The physcology behind having wrecked clothes is so that the CHERUBs are under stress that would occur in missions. They don't always have the right equiptment and have to improvize with what they have got.
The Basic Training Area
The Basic Training Area is a compound on CHERUB campus which the trainees are allowed to leave to quit the training. However, other CHERUB agents are forbidden to enter, and if they do they can expect to receive severe punishments. The fence is electrified and has CCTV cameras placed every 10m around it. The 100 days they spend there will often be the hardest and longest 100 days of their lives! There are different sections in this area, for example Physical Training [assault course], Survival Training etc. There is also a school where the trainees are subjected to various lessons such as weaponry, handling explosives, foreign languages and more.
The Mini Survival Course
At the end of the Basic Training course the soon-to-be cherubs are taken to a foreign country for a four-day survival course. The trainees are dropped off in groups of two and must pass certain stations in time (96 hours). Cherubs usually admit this to be the most difficult thing in the training. The location for the Mini Survival Course is changed every so often so that qualified CHERUB agents cannot tell trainees what to expect.
Passing or Failing
When the course is completed, the agents are given their grey shirts and are qualified to go on missions! They are also given a new room in the main building. Trainees who fail the training must do it again, and are temporarily moved to the junior building and given red shirts. There is one consolation in not passing training: red-shirts are allowed to keep a pet.
